Technical Description
(1) The CO-1 is a handheld cap remover designed to remove the lid from laser diode packages. It is used to open photodiodes and LEDs with TO packages (TO-3, TO-5, TO-8, TO-18, TO-39, or TO-46).

(2) During operation, simply place the diode between the two wheels at the front of the tool, gently apply pressure to the handle of the cap remover, and rotate the handle to drive the blade. The knurled knob marked “BLADE” can control the cutting distance of the blade when twisted back and forth, enabling precise positioning of the diode’s cutting location. The hardened steel blade can easily cut through the wall of the diode cap, which can then be carefully removed.


(3) For diode packages of different diameters, the limit between the blade and the wheels can be adjusted via the set screw device on the handle. Use a 2.0mm wrench to adjust the tightness to prevent pressure damage to the diode during cutting.
