Standard SM1 lens tubes can be screwed into the internal moving groove to build a telescope lens tube assembly.

Non-rotating movable SM1 lens tube, compatible with SM1 components.

Accommodates Ø1 inch optical elements up to 0.42 inch (10.7 mm) thick.

Maximum travel: 0.16 inch (4.1 mm), 0.5 mm per revolution.

Fixed SM1 external thread and SM1 mounting internal thread for translation.

Supplied with 1 standard CSK3 retaining ring for securing optical elements.

The non-rotating retractable tube provides 4.1 mm of linear travel without rotating the optical elements mounted inside. The precision helical mechanism moves the front lens barrel forward and backward without any rotational motion, preventing rotation of the connected lens tube or optical elements. This high-precision retractable tube (0.5 mm movement per revolution) enables accurate control of the working distance before fixing optical elements in the system.

Technical Description

The CSM-Z5 non-rotating retractable tube offers 0.16 inch (4.1 mm) of linear travel. The precision helical mechanism moves the front lens barrel axially without rotation, avoiding rotation of the attached lens tube or optical elements. This high-precision non-rotating retractable tube allows precise adjustment of the working distance prior to securing optical elements in the system.

Installation: First, mount the Ø1 inch optical element into the retractable tube and secure it with the included CSK3 standard retaining ring. Then attach the CSM-Z5 to an SM1 internally threaded lens tube or mount. Once fixed, the outer ring of the CSM-Z5 can be used for precise positioning of the optical element.

An SM1 externally threaded lens tube can also be attached to the front end of the CSM-Z5 to form a telescope lens tube assembly.

The tube features SM1 (1.035”-40) threads for integration into lens tube systems. It is also compatible with our CSJ-30 cage plates for integration into 30 mm cage systems and supports free-space optical setups.
