Technical Description

(1) The CRD-05 rotation mount is used for mounting Ø1/2-inch optical components. The front dial of the mount can rotate 360° with a graduation of 2° and is provided with a calibration line. The rotational position can be locked by tightening the side set screw with a 0.9 mm hex wrench.

(2) The SM1 (1.035″-40) external thread allows the mount to be directly screwed into SM1 internal thread components, such as SM1 lens sleeves or 30 mm cage cubes. The central aperture is machined with SM05 (0.535″-40) thread, which can hold Ø1/2-inch (Ø12.7 mm) optical components with a maximum thickness of 6.5 mm. Optical components are mounted with the included retaining ring.

(3) When used in combination with a polarizing beam splitter cube and the CRD-05 Ø1/2-inch rotation mount, the cube is ideal for constructing adjustable beam splitters, adjustable attenuators or beam combiners. A variable beam splitter can continuously alter the transmission intensity of linearly polarized light beams. The half-wave plate in the rotation mount first rotates the incident linearly polarized light, which then passes through the polarizing beam splitter cube and is split into S and P polarized light, thereby achieving continuous adjustment of the beam splitting ratio. This effect is commonly used in holography and interferometry.
