Description
Product Description
- Precisely position optical components in the SM1 lens sleeve system.
- Non-rotating movement, capable of mounting Ø1-inch optical components with a maximum thickness of 10.7 mm.
- Internal and external threads of SM1 (1.035”-40).
- Supplied with 1 CSK3 retaining ring.
The SM-Z4 retractable sleeve offers a linear travel of 4.1 mm. Its non-rotating movement design allows the helical mechanism to move the front lens barrel forward and backward without any rotational motion, preventing rotation of optical components, objective lenses, or lens sleeves installed inside during movement.

Technical Description
The SM-Z4 retractable sleeve provides 4.1 mm linear travel. The non-rotating movement design enables the helical mechanism to translate the front lens barrel axially without rotation, avoiding rotation of optical components, objective lenses or lens sleeves installed inside during adjustment. This high-precision (0.5 mm per revolution) retractable sleeve allows precise distance control before fixing optical components in the system.

Both internal and external threads of the retractable sleeve are SM1 (1.035”-40): the external thread for fixed connection and the internal thread for translational movement. To operate, first install a Ø1-inch optical component (thickness ≤10.7 mm) into the retractable sleeve, then secure the sleeve to an SM1 internally threaded assembly. Rotate the outer ring of the SM-Z4 for precise positioning of the optical component. When paired with an RMS adapter, it can also connect microscope objectives for precise positioning in optomechanical systems.

3.
The outer ring is laser-engraved with arrow markings indicating “RETREAT” and “MOVE” for easy identification. Once the desired position is reached, tighten the set screw on the housing with a 0.9 mm hex wrench to lock the position.
