Technical Notes

The OPH-B series optical rail/mounting bracket provides essential building blocks for stable and rigid 3D mechanical assemblies. It offers high flexibility, strong adaptability, and multiple component mounting options. The choice of rail length determines the horizontal/vertical travel available for experimental and microscope setups.

The OPH-B series rail features rectangular slot guides on all four sides, with lengths available from 200mm to 1000mm. The dovetail mounting surface allows end to end interconnection and is compatible with OOP-MA, OOP-MX, and OOP-MO2 sliders. Sliders enable optical components mounted on them to move continuously and freely along the dovetail surface. The slider base is secured with two screws, operable with a 3mm hex key.

Cover plates fo

r 66mm rails/mounts have 4ר4.4mm countersunk holes and can be fastened to both ends of the bracket with M4 cap screws. The OPS-MO cover plate creates a light-tight enclosed environment inside the rail; the OPS-MC cover plate provides an additional port with a cable slot. The OPS-MS2 cover plate features a through port with SM2 (2.035”-40) internal threads, allowing integration of SM2-compatible lens tubes and 60mm cage assemblies.

OHD series cage breadboards feature mounting holes for integrating 30mm cage system components and other experimental devices on top of the rail/mount or along its vertical length. OHD-35 and OHD-SM1 have 4ר4.2mm countersunk holes for direct mounting to the top of heavy-duty rails. OHD-SM1A requires an APT series right-angle adapter for free positioning along the vertical length of the rail.

OBP series cage mounting plates feature Ø4.2mm countersunk holes at various positions. Unlike the one-way mounting of the OHD series, OBP series supports dual-rail structural support, allowing flexible custom end or center mounting. The plate has SM1 threaded holes at both ends and a central aperture of SM2 or Ø63.0mm for integrating 30/60mm system components. Cage rods can be used to mount cage assemblies perpendicular to the mounting plate. In addition, the plate can be used with CSK-A series clamp mounts for horizontal installation of cage assemblies.

The OPH-C rail connector joins two OPH-B series rails end-to-end to form longer rail assemblies. It also ensures rail flatness and reduces deflection inherent in single long rails. The outer profile of the connector matches that of the OPH-B series rail, allowing mating components to clamp the joint or slide smoothly across the entire rail length.
