Technical Description
(1) The M2-BFD cube is used to mount fluorescence filter sets (dichroic mirrors, excitation filters and emission filters) in a cube compatible with 30 mm cage systems, and is specially suitable for self-constructed microscope setups.

(2) The cube consists of a beam splitter insert set and a detachable base. Magnets integrated in the cube base and inserts ensure repeatable positioning of the cube in the cage system. The cube insert set is also available for separate purchase, making it ideal for quick replacement of fluorescence filter sets or reflection angles in aligned experimental setups.
(3) The cube insert set is designed for mounting Ø1-inch optical components (e.g., excitation and emission filters) and a 36×25.4 mm beam splitter rectangular cube at the center (thickness of optical components ≤2 mm). The cube insert is inserted into the cube base in a single direction, so correct orientation of the entire cube assembly is critical in the setup. A beam splitter position diagram is laser-marked on the top of the cover plate to indicate the optical path through the cube. (The beam splitter beam mark is inclined at 3° to avoid refraction of reflected light.)

(4) The base is equipped with four SM1 (1.035″-40) threaded ports, with four 4-40 threaded holes around each port. The cube can be connected to 30 mm cage systems using PCM series Ø6 mm posts. In addition, three M6 threaded holes are featured on the bottom for mounting posts, enabling applications in free space.

(5) CSL-P1 dust caps are also available, which help reduce stray light from unused ports of the cube. The cube can be connected side-by-side with another beam steering cube or fluorescence filter cube by using M2-CX2 cube connectors.
