Technical Description

(1) The miniature dovetail optical rail is engineered for building one-dimensional accessories. Machined from solid aluminum, it has a dovetail mounting surface where snap-in rail carriages can be installed. Components can sli

de along the dovetail mounting surface and be fixed at any position on it.

The rails are available in lengths ranging from 75mm to 600mm, and laser-engraved with a scale featuring numerical markings every 10mm and 1mm graduations. The rails can be fastened to optical tables or breadboards via counterbore slots and feature a compact structure.

 

(2) The OOP-R series rail carriages are designed to mount components onto OOM-LR series dovetail rails. The carriages can be snapped into place anywhere along the length of the rail without the need for installation from the rail ends. A single M6 counterbore is machined on the surface for mounting opto-mechanical components. Precision machining ensures excellent lateral alignment during translation along the rail length, and a side thumb screw locks the position in place.

(3) The OOP-RV25 vertical carriage features a 24.6mm-long dovetail surface, which allows vertical mounting of OOP-R series carriages clamped on the rail, enabling lateral translation perpendicular to the rail direction.

(4) The OOP-RP positioning carriage and OOP-RN return carriage assist in the fine adjustment movement of optical components mounted on dovetail rail carriages. When used in combination, they provide precise alignment from two directions along the rail axis. The OOP-RP positioning carriage includes an adjustment screw with a 26mm stroke, while the OOP-RN return carriage has a built-in spring plunger that delivers stability during actuation and enables finer, smoother movement compared to manual rough adjustment.

For use, place the movable carriage between the positioning carriage and the return carriage, then tighten the thumb screws to fix the positions of the two locators (the movable carriage should remain loose). Use a 2mm wrench to drive the adjustment screw, pushing the movable carriage toward the return carriage to reach the desired displacement position.

(5) The dovetail cage plate mount series is used to mount 16mm, 30mm or 60mm cage systems onto dovetail rails, aligning the center of the mounted cage system to an optical axis height of 30mm or 50mm (measured from the top surface of the rail). The dovetail clamp design allows for easy removal or addition of cage system components according to application requirements.
