Technical Notes

The UV CMOS camera is a high-sensitivity imaging device designed to capture light in the ultraviolet band (typically 10–400 nm), detecting UV light invisible to the human eye. It is widely used in scientific research, industrial inspection, and astronomical observation. It is critical for measuring UV reflectance properties of materials and observing specific chemical and physical reactions, including UV imaging, spectral analysis, astronomy, material surface inspection, and fluorescence marker observation in biological and medical research.

The OsCam Vision® application software supports Windows 7 through Windows 11. It offers rich scientific functions such as image capture and annotation, pixel analysis, calibration, and measurement. Click to download the Oscam (V1.0.4 Beta) Setup installer and OsCam Scientific Camera Software User Manual.

The camera uses an SM1 threaded interface (1.035″-40) compatible with a wide range of optomechanical components and can be connected to lenses via a C-mount adapter. The front features four 4-40 threaded holes compatible with 30 mm and 60 mm cage optical systems. Each side of the camera housing has two 1/4″-20 holes and two M4 holes for mounting stainless steel posts. These versatile mounting options make it ideal for custom imaging systems and integration into commercial microscope cameras.

The camera uses a high-speed USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface with a stable data rate of 3.2 Gbps, several times faster than Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbps). A 3-meter dedicated fixed USB 3.0 cable is included.
