The 30mm cage cube is built for mounting prisms, beam splitters and other optical elements that produce a 90° optical path offset. It is used to install 20mm/25mm/1-inch beam splitter cubes or right-angle prisms into 30mm cage systems, serving as an adapter for cage system construction and a protector for optical lenses.

Technical Description
(1) The 30mm cage cube is configured for prisms, beam splitters and other optical elements that generate a 90° optical path offset. It is designed to mount 20mm/25mm/1-inch cubes and right-angle prisms into 30mm cage systems (prisms are bonded to the mount with curing adhesive, sold separately). It acts as an adapter for cage system assembly and provides protection for optical lenses.

(2) The CSL30-M cage cube includes the following components: cube base and cube cover, and is only compatible with 25mm or 25.4mm cube prisms. When mounting a prism, face the corner-free end of the base toward the bottom right of your view. First, apply UV glue to the cube base, then slide the prism parallel to the two corners on one side until it is close, and push it toward the corner on the upper end until it is horizontally and vertically aligned. Irradiate the glued area with a handheld UV curing lamp until the glue dries, then cover with the cube cover and tighten the fixing screws.

(3) The CSL30-M2 cage cube consists of: cube base, cube cover, pressure plate, three long hex socket screws and two adapter plates. It can mount 20mm and 25mm cube prisms. For mounting a 25mm prism on the CSL30-M2, the same steps as for the CSL30-M can be followed, or it can be used with the pressure plate for clamping as shown in the figure above.

Unlike the 25mm prism mounting process, a 20mm prism must first be spot-glued and bonded to the adapter plate. Similarly, push the prism to two diagonal corners to keep it parallel, then push it to the third corner to make it vertical, ensuring the entire prism is centered in the cube. Next, use the three 1.5mm hex socket screws on the pressure plate to clamp the optical prism in the cube, then cover with the cube cover and tighten the fixing screws.

(4) When the cube is used in conjunction with a polarizing beam splitter cube and the CRD-05 Ø1/2-inch rotation mount, it is ideal for constructing adjustable beam splitters, adjustable attenuators or beam combiners. A variable beam splitter can continuously adjust the transmission intensity of a linearly polarized light beam. First, rotate the linearly polarized incident light with the half-wave plate in the rotation mount, then the light is split into S and P polarized light by the polarizing beam splitter cube, achieving continuous adjustment of the beam splitting ratio. This effect is commonly used in holography and interferometry.

(5) Used with the M2-CX cage cube connector, two or more cage cubes can be connected side by side.

(6) The four SM1 ports of the cube are compatible with various lens tubes of the Oeabt series. Each side is equipped with four 4-40 threaded holes for connecting to our PCM-S series Ø6mm support rods. In addition, the base has M4 threaded holes at the bottom for mounting to Ø12mm connecting rods, suitable for free-space applications.

(7) We offer pre-assembled combinations with optical beam splitter prisms, including options with pre-mounted 20/25.4mm beam splitter cubes and 20mm polarizing beam splitter cubes, reducing the time required for optical system setup in experiments.
