Technical Notes

 

The bare fiber rotator is designed for angle-sensitive systems including polarization experiments and coupling optimization. It enables 360° continuous rotation of the fiber around its core center with max eccentricity 10 µm across the full range, ensuring precise alignment with couplers, polarizers, and other components.

It holds Ø125 µm bare fiber (buffer stripped) via a V-groove and strong magnetic clamp arm. A top set screw allows adjustable clamping force to minimize stress-induced fiber birefringence.

The base features a 3 mm wide keyway compatible with multi-axis flexure stages and fiber adapter plates. When mounted on a flexure stage top plate, the optical axis height is 12.5 mm. The keyway ensures accurate reinstallation alignment after removal.
