With the continuous iteration of technology, laser cutting has begun to be widely and deeply applied in all walks of life, of which the largest share is laser cutting technology. The advantages of laser processing are high precision, fast efficiency, narrow cutting slot, smooth cutting surface, etc., at present, wood processing is a more important application direction in laser cutting processing.
Laser cutting is essentially a non-contact thermal process. However, when cutting wood, the heat generated during the processing causes combustion or oxidation, which leads to easy blackening, that is, the edge of the wood is carbonized and blackened. Therefore, when formulating process parameters, the above problems can be avoided as much as possible by adjusting the process parameters.
To avoid the carbonization effect of laser cutting, the laser speed should be increased as much as possible and the laser power should be reduced. However, it should be noted that the faster the better, and the lower the power, the better. If you cut the wood multiple times with fast and low power in order to reduce blackening, the carbonization effect of the wood may be darker than normal after multiple cuts. So we need to adjust to the best power and speed.
In addition, we have to make sure that the wood is cut thoroughly in one go. Only on the basis of ensuring the first penetration, we can gradually increase the laser speed and reduce the laser power to avoid repeated processing and secondary burning. If the part that has already been cut is reprocessed, the blackening may be worse.
Laser speed and laser power are also different, different laser equipment performance is naturally different, we can try, you can first fix one of the parameters unchanged, and then adjust the other parameter, and then repeat this step after the completion of the test several times.
In addition to the power speed affecting blackening, there is also a very important factor, which is the assistance of air. Specialized air aids or nozzles can be used to direct air to the laser processing area. Because another factor in the blackening and yellowing is the blackening of the gas produced by the cutting. Air assistance can help remove heat quickly, reducing the burning and oxidation of materials. And it can make cutting easier and prevent fire.
In practice, other factors should be taken into account: uneven platform, focal length problems caused by uneven wooden boards, uneven material of the plywood and glue content.
